Marathon and 1/2 Marathon Trail Race Details:
The MountainAir Marathon starts at 7:30 AM on CR 738 in Skyland 1 mile south of Crested Butte at an elevation of 8800 ft. The race is run on Hwy 135, and follows the East River down to the Resort town of Almont. The course continues south rolling through the Gunnison area ranchland then turns off the highway on to CR 10. This narrow country road takes runners into the Town of Gunnison. Runners finish in the Mountaineer Bowl on the Western State College campus at an elevation of 7700 ft.
There are aid stations at mile 3, 6, 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and at the finish area.
The MountainAir 1/2 Marathon Trail Race starts and finishes in the Mountaineer Bowl.
Aid stations will have water and most of them will offer an electrolyte drink. Some aid stations will have snacks, first aid and toilets. We do our best to make this marathon accommodating and enjoyable.
Registration Fees:
Marathon is $65.00 until September 1st and $75 after September 1st.
1/2 Marathon Trail Race is $45 until September 1st and $55 after September 1st

Marathon Transportation:
We do have transportation to the start. We do not have transportation back to Crested Butte. (But we can find you a ride) Please sign up for transportation at packet pick up.
Busses will collect runners for the marathon in Gunnison from WSC Paul Wright Gymnasium parking lot at 6 AM. This is located near to the finish line in Mountaineer Bowl.
Busses will collect runners for the Marathon from Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce at 7 AM.
1/2 Marathon Trail Race Transportation:
The 1/2 Marathon Trail Race starts and finishes at the Mountaineer Bowl so there is no transportation needed.
Packet Pick Up:
You can collect your race numbers and race packet at Colorado Fitness in Gunnison. Friday from 5 PM - 8 PM and Saturday from 8 AM - 7 PM. Colorado Fitness is located at 405 W. Tomichi, behind the House of China Restaurant. Turn south on 14th street and Colorado Fitness is located opposite Mountain Surfaces.

Packets that are not picked up on Friday or Saturday will be taken to the start of each race.
Please pick up your packet before race morning if you can. Please call and withdraw your race packet if you decide not to race. Race registration fees are non refundable.
